Ariel Winter says living with her sister has given her stability for the first time in her life.
The 'Modern Family' star is currently in the care of her 34-year-old sister Shanelle Grey and the 15-year-old actress is really happy with the arrangement.
She said: "I've never had a curfew before. My life is definitely more normal [living with my sister] - and that'll help me grow up like I'm supposed t.
"It's just a different experience for me because I have more of a family life. I'm really happy."
And Ariel - who was removed from her mother Chrisoula 'Chrystal' Workman's custody in October with Child Protection Services (CPS) later reported they found evidence of abuse - also suggested her mom had made her more insecure about her appearance.
She added to Teen Vogue magazine: "I had body insecurities when I was younger. I still do. Every girl has insecurities - mine were heightened at the time because my mother wasn't supportive.
"Now, my sister is always making sure to tell me that I look beautiful."
Though she is feeling more settled, Ariel admits the upheaval in her family life left her "embarrassed".
She said: "I want to be the kind of actress where, if I'm in the press, I'm in for the right reasons - for my work. To be in the press about family drama is kind of embarrassing."
