The Social Network with Alan Murphy is the most interactive show on the radio…fact!

Each week night between 8 and 10, listeners can choose the music they want to hear, ask celebrity guests the questions they want answered, and have their voices heard on all aspects of the show through the text line and Twitter.  Alan plays the newest songs from both Irish and international artists as well as huge hits from the 90s and noughties to give listeners a truly unique blend of music.  The Social Network is your one stop shop for all things music, showbiz and fashion.

Alan hails from County Mayo and has been presenting on Galway Bay FM since 2004.  He graduated from Griffith College in Dublin with a First Class Honours Degree in journalism and media. Alan has interviewed everyone from Paris Hilton and Charlise Theron to Janice Dickinson and Jedward and brings you closer to the stars on his show than anyone else.  He’s a fan of Leona Lewis, OneRepublic, Adele, Robyn, Emeli Sandé, Sia and Sunny Amoreena among others.  As well as hosting The Social Network, he’s also worked as a journalist with the news team for the past 8 years. Alan is a successful showbiz writer and has written for numerous publications both nationally and internationally.  And he opened his own dancing school in 2012 – The Alan Murphy Academy of Irish Dance.  Alan firmly believes everything happens for a reason and lives by the motto: “Follow your bliss.”
