A crowd of over 300 locals turned out in Dunmore today to voice their concerns over the long-delayed Bridge Street renovation project, which was withdrawn from the Part 8 Planning process for the second time last November.
TDs Sean Canney, Michael Fitzmaurice, Louis O'Hara and Albert Dolan were joined on stage at the protest by several County Councillors and members of the Dunmore Bridge Street Protest Group, who all spoke of the growing frustration in the town and surrounding areas at the ongoing safety threat to pedestrians, motorists, and residents.
Local publican David Glynn told the crowd in Dunmore that its current state is untenable.
Marie Howley said they are here to ensure that the focus is put on the regeneration of the town.
