Ahead of their gig at the upcoming Galway International Arts Festival, Kayte caught up with guitarist Stuart Braithwaite of Mogwai. They talked about the band's new album 'The Bad Fire', the best accents in the world and of course, Mogwai's upcoming gig in the Heineken Big Top.
You can catch up on the interview in full on the Galway Bay FM website, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Formed in Glasgow in 1995, Mogwai have captivated audiences for nearly three decades with their evocative, genre-defying soundscapes. The band features Stuart Braithwaite (guitar, vocals), Barry Burns (guitar, piano, synthesizer, vocals), Dominic Aitchison (bass guitar), and Martin Bulloch (drums).
Since their debut album in 1997, Mogwai have released ten studio albums, culminating in As The Love Continues (2021), a critical and commercial triumph. The album reached number 1 on the Official UK Album Charts, earned a Mercury Prize nomination, and won the prestigious Scottish Album of the Year award.
Mark your calendars: Mogwai’s highly anticipated new album, The Bad Fire, drops in early 2025.
