From the moment you arrive, the festive spirit surrounds you, with mulled wine and mince pies by the fire. Your Christmas Eve begins in style with a Champagne reception, On St. Stephen’s Day, indulge in the classic Buffet Lunch of seafood, oysters, homemade sandwiches and Guinness, followed by an evening of live music in the drawing room. A piano is also available for those who wish to add their own melody to the festivities.
Each evening guests gather for a six-course dinner, beginning with canapés in the piano room, before moving into the grand dining room to dine together around a magnificent oak dining table—a true celebration of food.

About Delphi Lodge:
Set amid Connemara’s peaceful valleys, tumbling streams, and mighty mountain slopes, Delphi Lodge is a spectacularly sited, 200-year-old rustic country house. At one time it was the sporting hideaway of the Marquess of Sligo, and that appeal remains, especially for those keen on winter woodcock shooting, or year-round golfing, horseback riding, and walking. The mountain of Mweelrea, which translates to “the gray bald one,” is nearby, and so too is Ireland’s only natural fjord at Killary Harbour.
Many come for fly-fishing instruction, and there’s a salmon club with permits, licenses, rods, and other equipment supplied. Alternatively, those looking to unwind in the uplifting surroundings and breathe in the aroma of wood-burning fires can pull up a comfy chair and soak in the homey atmosphere. At dinner, the daily fresh catch of salmon is accompanied by a civilized glass of wine and enjoyed around a communal old oak dining table.
This beautiful lodge has 13 large comfortable bedrooms one of which is a large family suite and three which can be either twin or triple rooms. A large dining room, a snooker room and three old world reception rooms with log fires all combine to ensure that our guests have a warm, relaxing and friendly experience throughout their stay.
Dining at Delphi
The food at Delphi Lodge is highly praised, with delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners that make full use of local seafood, salmon, lamb, game and other fresh produce from the area. Evening Dinner at Delphi Lodge is highly recommended.
It’s a very special experience, with guests gathering in our Drawing Room from 7.00pm where pre-dinner drinks and canapés are served in front of a cosy log fire. Then it’s into the Dining Room at 7.30pm for a wonderful six course meal, specially designed and prepared using the best quality, fresh and locally sourced ingredients.
Guests are seated together around our large antique dining table to exchange anecdotes about the day in the wonderful Delphi Lodge atmosphere, with coffee and chocolates later in the Drawing Room; log fires and good company – a perfect evening.
And there’s a great wine list, featuring over 200 fairly-priced wines. We are also offering great vegan, pescetarian and vegetarian dishes.
