There's been a guarded welcome to speed limit reductions in Oranmore, Athenry and Claregalway
The speed limit on the main streets is set to be reduced to 30km/h.
As part of a national speed limit review, these areas were identified as having an urban core, which, under new recommendations, would see a decrease in the speed limit.
The change would come as part of the 2nd phase of a national plan, which will be operational by the end of March next year
