Christy passed away peacefully on Saturday, 25th July 2026, surrounded by his loving family, in the wonderful care of the staff at University Hospital Galway.
Predeceased by his parents, Joe and Madge, and his sister, Margaret (Shiel).
Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter, Linda, her mother, Marian, his brothers, Jimmy and Michael, his twin sister, Miriam (Sheridan), and sister, Eileen (Concar), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, and a wide circle of friends.
Christy’s family would like to sincerely thank all those who cared for him over the past few months.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Funeral Arrangements
Reposing at The Holy Family Funeral Parlour, Mervue (H91 FH52), on Tuesday, 28th July, from 5.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. Removal will take place afterwards to The Holy Family Church, Mervue.
Access to the Funeral Parlour is through the main church entrance. A wheelchair-accessible entrance is also available at ground level via the church car park.
Please be mindful of increased traffic during the Galway Races period.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, 29th July at 11 a.m. in the Holy Family Church Mervue. The Funeral Mass will be live streamed. Please find the link below.
Following Mass, Christy will be laid to rest in Rinville Cemetery, Rinville West, Co. Galway.
House Private, Please. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, in Christy’s memory, to the Irish Kidney Association.
