Donald passed away peacefully on November 23, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving wife Fiona, children and extended family and friends, after a long illness fought with incredible patience and courage. Predeceased by his parents, Wolfgang and Helga Raecke and father-in-law Myles O’Malley. He will be dearly missed by his heartbroken wife Fiona, children Rachel and Karl, stepsons Steven and Philip, daughter-in-law Natalie, grandchildren Dexter and Archie, loving brothers Guenter and Gerd, mother-in-law Glenys, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, extended relatives,
neighbours and by his dear friends and carers.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Reposing at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue (H91V1K8) on Wednesday, November 27 from 4.30 p.m. until 6.30 p.m. Removal from his home to arrive at St. Mary’s, Church, The Claddagh in advance of Requiem Mass therein on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at 12 noon. Following Mass he will be laid to rest in Rahoon Cemetery. Family flowers only. Memorial donations if desired to the Galway Hospice or the Irish Cancer Society.
