The death has occurred of Jimmy Carr, Whitestrand Park and formerly of Henry Street, Galway
On Friday, 8th May 2026 Jimmy completed his life’s journey at home.
He is predeceased by his parents John (Janey) and Kathleen, brother Billy and his niece Kathleen Burke.
Deeply mourned by his children Aideen, Gerard and Antoinette, sons-in-law Noel and Kieran and daughter-in-law Órla, by his adored grandchildren Robert, Evan, Cian, Diarmuid, Jason, Ellen, Muireann and Noel. Fondly remembered by his brothers Tommy and John and by his sister Mary, nephews and nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Jimmy lived at home where he was cared for by his daughter Antoinette, her husband Noel and family.
Jimmy who loved walking, rarely seen without his dog, will be greatly missed by all those he stopped to talk to.

Tuesday 12th May 2026
Jimmy will lie in Repose at the O'Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue (H91 V1K8) from 5.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.
Wednesday, 13th May 2026
Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Jimmy on arrival at St. Ignatius' Jesuit Church, Sea Road at 11.00 a.m. Following Mass, he will be laid to rest in Rahoon cemetery. Livestreaming is not available in the Church.

Please approach the funeral parlour entrance on foot from Fr. Burke Park.
Street parking may be available on Fr. Griffin Road, within the Claddagh, on Henry Street, Sea Road, The Crescent and Dr. Colohan Road.
Car Parks within walking distance of the parlour: The Claddagh Church, Spanish Arch and Mill Street which is adjacent to the Garda Station.
There is limited space for the immediate members of Jimmy's family within the grounds of the funeral parlour. Some space is reserved for guests with mobility needs.
