The death has occurred of John Bermingham, Quinn Terrace, Mervue, Galway / Ardrahan, Co. Galway
Formerly of Ardrahan, Co. Galway.
In the early hours of Wednesday 15th April 2026, after a short illness at Galway University Hospital, John slipped away peacefully, with his loving family by his side.
Born and raised in Ardrahan and later moving into Galway City for work, John spent most of his life in Mervue. He worked at Galway Concrete, followed by a long career in the corporation where he eventually retired. John also took great joy in his garden, where he spent many days over the years.
He is dearly loved and very sadly missed by his wife of 51 years Mary, son David and daughters Bernadette, Margaret, Caroline and Sandra, sons-in-law and daughter-in-law.
Lovingly remembered and missed also by his brother Paddy and sister Margaret, his eight grandchildren and one great grandchild, of whom he was immensely proud, nieces, nephews, the extended Bermingham family, neighbours and friends.
Funeral Arrangements
Monday 20 April : Reposing at Mervue Funeral Parlour, adjacent to the Holy Family Church, Mervue from 5pm - 6:30pm, with removal after into the Church. Please enter through the Church.
Tuesday 21 April : Requiem Mass will be celebrated for John at 11am. Following Mass, he will be laid to rest in Bohermore Cemetery.
