The death has occurred of John Langdon, Claddagh and Liam Mellows Terrace, Galway
Predeceased by his daughter Patricia, parents Christopher and Jane and his brothers and sisters.
John passed away peacefully on Thursday, 23rd July 2026 in the wonderful care of the staff and carers of St. Mary’s Ward, Galway University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband and best friend of Mary. Dearly loved father of Jane, Noreena, Pat and Gina, adored and very proud grandfather and great grandfather of Tanya, William, Darren, Adam, Finn, Oran, Jacob and Eva. Deeply mourned by his heartbroken family, sons-in-law William and Tony, nieces and nephews, extended family, lovely neighbours and many friends.
John, keep smiling and digging in heaven’s eternal sunshine.
Your joyful spirit lives on in your garden in every blooming flower, and your beautiful work here is happily done.

John will lie in repose at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91 V1K8) from 5 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.
Monday, 27th July 2026
Requiem Mass will be celebrated for John on arrival at St. Mary's Church, Claddagh at 11 a.m. Following Mass he will be laid to rest in Rahoon cemetery. Mass live streaming https://www.dominicanscladdagh.ie/live-webcam/
