The death has occurred of Martin Gannon, Shudane, Athenry, Galway / Monivea, Galway

Martin Gannon, St David's Retirement Home, Salthill, and formerly of Shudane, Athenry, Monivea Park and Tuam, Co. Galway.

Martin passed peacefully at St David’s on June 13th after a long illness that he bore so bravely.

Predeceased by his parents Jack and Mary Jo, his siblings Sr. Mary, Jimmy and Gerald.Martin will be fondly remembered by his children Mark and Maureen, their mother Mary, daughter in-law Brigitta, grandchildren Finn and Eleanor, brothers Micky, Chris, Peader, Paddy, John and Joe, sisters Bernie and Nora, sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and last but not least his many army friends where he served as a soldier in Galway Barracks for 42 years.

Reposing at Quinn’s Funeral Home, Athenry on Monday 15th of June from 5.30pm. Removal at 7pm to the Church of The Immaculate Conception, Newcastle, Athenry. Funeral Mass on Tuesday 16th at 12 noon. Mass will be live streamed on https://churchmedia.tv/camera/the-church-of-the immaculate-conception. Cremation in Shannon Crematorium on Wednesday 17th of June at 11am. Family flowers only.
