The death has occurred of Mary McCormack (née Carney), St. Brendan's C.N.U., Loughrea, Galway / Athlone, Westmeath / Ballyhaunis, Mayo

St. Brendan’s CNU, Loughrea, Co. Galway and formerly Ballyhaunis, Mayo and Athlone, Westmeath.

Mary passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, in the exceptional care of the nurses and carers of St. Brendan’s CNU, Loughrea, on Thursday 9th April 2026, in her 103rd year.

Predeceased by her parents William and Ann and brothers Paddy and Tom.

Mary will be deeply missed by her daughter Annette and son Peter, their partners Ger and Ann, her adored grandchildren Brian, Fiona, Darren, Darragh, Karen, Ruth, Eoin, Hazel and Oisín, their partners Aoife, Keith, Laura, Karolina, Ahmed, Garin, Suzanne and Therése, great-grandchildren Clara, Maeve, Adam and Holly, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Mary will lie in repose in Kilboys Funeral Home, Loughrea (H62 KF63) on Sunday 12th April from 4.30pm – 6pm.

Mary’s Requiem Mass will take place in St. Brendan’s Cathedral, Loughrea, on Monday 13th April at 12.30pm, followed by burial in Mount Pleasant cemetery.
