Mary passed away peacefully at University Hospital Galway on Friday, 10th July 2026, following a brief illness, bravely borne.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael.

Mary will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters, Sharon (Higgins) and Regina (Curran); her cherished granddaughters, Lauren, Amy and Ava; her sons-in-law, Hugh and Pat; her brothers, Martin and Paddy Naughton; her sisters, Nora O'Loughlin and Kathleen Nolan; her brother-in-law, Sean Wallace; her sisters-in-law, Marina, Edwina and Anne; her nephews and nieces, Derek, Gareth, Halina, Michael and Stacey; her extended family, neighbours and her wide circle of friends.

Mary's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all those who cared for her throughout her illness, especially the nurses and staff of St. Dominic's Ward at University Hospital Galway, who showed such kindness, compassion and dedicated care.

Funeral Arrangements

Tuesday, 14th July 2026

Reposing at Conneely's Funeral Home, Flood Street (H91 A786), from 5.30 p.m. to 7.00 p.m., with removal afterwards to St. Patrick's Church, Forster Street, Galway City.

Family, friends and neighbours are welcome to walk alongside the hearse as it makes its way to the Church on Tuesday evening.

Please note that parking is available for up to five family cars at the funeral home. A designated drop-off area is located outside the funeral home for those with mobility issues.

Wednesday, 15th July 2026

The funeral cortege will leave Liam Mellows Terrace, Bohermore, at 11.30 a.m. to arrive at St. Patrick's Church, Forster Street, Galway City, for Requiem Mass at 12.00 noon.

Following Mass, Mary will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Michael, in Forthill Cemetery.
