The death has occurred of Agnes (Aggie) Courtney (née Roche)

Castlelambert, Athenry, Galway

Agnes (Aggie) Courtney (Nee Roche) of Castlelambert, Athenry, Co.Galway.

 

Agnes passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and in the care of the wonderful staff of An Teaghlach Uilinn Nursing Home, Moycullen on Tuesday the 21st of July 2026.

 

Predeceased by her beloved husband Micheál, son Michael, granddaughter Victoria, grandson Con and siblings John, May, Martin, Nonie, Larry, Paddy and Tommy.

 

Agnes will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Nuala, sons, John, Damien and Paul, son in-law Tom, daughters in-law, Pamela, Sinead and Ita, grandchildren Emmet, Lucy, Catherine, John, Rosa, Micheál and Hugh, sister in-law Nuala Courtney, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

 

 

Reposing at Quinn’s Funeral Home, Athenry on Friday the 24th of July from 6pm. Removal at 7.30pm to the Church of The Assumption, Athenry. Requiem Mass for Agnes will take place at 11.30am on Saturday the 25th of July. Burial afterwards in the New Cemetery, Athenry.

Mass will be live streamed on https://www.churchmedia.tv/st-marys-parish-1 and can be listened to Parish radio 106.5fm.
