The death has occurred of Agnes Gilligan (née Feeney), The Baily, Circular Road, Galway City, Galway and formerly of Killargue, County Leitrim.

It is with deep sadness that the Gilligan family share the news of Agnes’s death on Monday, July 28, 2025, following a brief illness, in University Hospital Galway. Predeceased by her beloved husband Leo (formerly of Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim), her daughter Orla, her grandson Noah and her sister Teresa.

A devoted and loving mother to Aidan, Siobhán, Margaret, Una, Martin, Ann and Rory, and grandmother to Orla, Alex, Nicole, Daniella, Leo, Chloe, Katie, Henry, Leo, Ava, Charlie, and Milo. She will be deeply missed by her children and grandchildren, daughters-in-law Janice and Karen, sons-in-law Joe, Nick, Diarmaid and Gareth, sisters Margaret, Anne and Kathleen, brothers-in-law, sisters in law and by the extended Feeney and Gilligan families.

Her loss is mourned by family, neighbours and friends, whose lives she touched with quiet grace and unwavering warmth

Reposing at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue (H91V1K8) from 5.00 p.m. with Removal at 6,30 p.m. to Galway Cathedral.

Thursday, July 31, 2025

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Agnes at 11 a.m. Following Mass, she will be laid to rest with Leo in Rahoon cemetery. Mass will be livestreamed https://www.galwaycathedral.ie/webcam

Sincere sympathy to the gilligan and feeney familys. on the passing of our wonderful neighbour agnes. we will miss her visits to our home .and her wave when passing by .the forde family have to thank agnes for being there when we needed her. When ellen rip was ill. The kindness shown to us will never be forgotten ..may agnes rest in peace 🙏
