Barry Connell

Barry's parents Stephen Connell and Patricia Philbin are deeply saddened to share the news of their son Barry's unexpected death on Thursday, 5th March, 2026 following excellent care from the wonderful paramedics, peacefully, at Galway University Hospital.

Barry is survived by his children Emma, Stevie and Luke each of whom carries forward a part of his story. He is deeply mourned and will be missed by his heartbroken family, relatives, and friends.

Barry will always be fondly remembered

Funeral Arrangements:

Monday, March 9th, 2026:

Barry will lie in repose at the O'Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, (H91 V1K8) from 5.30 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. There will be no removal to Castlegar Church this (Monday) evening.

Tuesday, March 10th, 2026

A Funeral Mass in Celebration of Barry's life, will commence at 11 a.m. on arrival at the St. Columba's Church, Castlegar. Following Mass, "our dad will be laid to rest in Rinville Cemetery, Oranmore near the playgrounds, walks, and sea views we remember from our days with him, a place where we can visit and feel and remember those nice days again".
