The death has occurred of Della Forde (née McHugh)

Corrib Park, Newcastle, Galway / Bohermore, Galway

Formerly of Connolly Terrace, Bohermore.

On Wednesday evening, 15th October Della died very peacefully at home with her dearly loved family by her side after a brief illness bravely borne. Predeceased by her beloved husband Durkan, sister Mary, brother Michael and by her parents Maisie and Michael.

Deeply mourned by her son Peter (Chicago), daughters Jean, Valerie, Aishling, Amanda, Olivia and Josie, daughter-in-law Nancy, sons-in-law Martin, Kevin, Noel, Paul and Ciarán, grandchildren Emma, Shinise, Hayleigh, Leigh, Aoife, Mia, Steven, Michael and Ronan, six great grandchildren, all of whom she was immensely proud. Sadly, missed also by her brothers Thomas and Gerard, sisters Pauline, Bernie and Catherina, the extended Forde and McHugh Family, lovely neighbours and wonderful friends.

May she be reunited with Durkan

Together may they rest in eternal peace.

Funeral Arrangements:

Sunday, 19th October 2025

Della will Repose at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91 V1K8) from 4.30 p.m. Removal at 6.00p.m. to Galway Cathedral.

 

Monday, 20th October 2025

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Della at 12 noon. Following Mass, she will be laid to rest with Durkan in the new cemetery, Bohermore.

Parking & Entrance to the funeral parlour - Please approach the funeral parlour entrance on foot from Fr. Burke Park. Street parking may be available on Fr. Griffin Road, within Claddagh, Henry Street and Sea Road. Parking maybe scarce on Munster Avenue.

Car Parks within walking distance: Claddagh Church, Spanish Arch and Mill Street which is adjacent to the Garda Station.
