The death has occurred of Ellen (Nellie) Geary (née McAteer)
In the early hours of Saturday 25 April 2026, Nellie slipped away peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at University Hospital Galway with her beloved family by her side.
Pre-deceased by her husband Eamonn in 2024.
Deeply mourned and very sadly missed by her daughters Irene and Louise and son Daniel, sons-in-law Chris and Tim, daughter-in-law Audrey and her 4 adored grandchildren Richard, Claire, Emily and Sarah of whom she cherished dearly.
Fondly remembered and mourned also by her sister Nora, brother-in-law Frank, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, the extended McAteer and Geary family, neighbours and many friends.
Funeral Arrangements
Tuesday 28 April : Reposing at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91 V1K8) from 5pm - 6:30pm. No removal.
Wednesday 29 April : Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Nellie on arrival at the Church of Christ the King, Salthill at 11:00am. Following Mass, a cremation service will take place in Shannon Crematorium.
