The death has occurred of Evelyn Barrett (née Naughton)
On 22nd December, Evelyn’s gentle soul passed away suddenly and peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at University Hospital Galway.
Predeceased by her parents Coleman and Mary, her brother Michael and her sister Mary.
Deeply mourned and forever missed by her loving family — her devoted husband Bartley and cherished children Bart, Jean, Deirdre and Christopher; sons and daughters-in-law Shane Howley, Conor Killeen, Anne Campion and Pauline McDonagh; and her adored grandchildren Abbie, Emily Jean, Seán, Matthew, Anna, Ian and Emmett.
Sadly missed by her beloved sisters Bridge, Anne and Nora, her brothers Padraic and Colm, nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.
Evelyn’s family would like to sincerely thank the staff and friends at St. Mary’s Nursing Home for the wonderful care and kindness shown to her over the past year.
May Evelyn’s kind and gentle soul rest in peace.
Funeral Arrangements
Tuesday, 23rd December 2025
Reposing at Conneely’s Funeral Home, Flood Street (H91 A786), from 4.00 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Removal afterwards to St. Augustine’s Church, Middle Street.
Wednesday, 24th December 2025 (Christmas Eve)
Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 11.00 a.m. in St. Augustine’s Church. Burial will take place afterwards in Forthill Cemetery.
