The death has occurred of Finola O Beirn (née MacDonald), Newcastle Park and formerly of Dr MacDonald’s Pharmacy, Lower Dominick Street, Galway, most recently residing under the great care of the staff of St. Mary's Nursing Home, Shantalla., Galway

On Wednesday afternoon, July 30, 2025, Finola completed her life’s journey in her 95th year and in the great care of the staff of St. Theresa's Ward at Galway University Hospital with her family by her side. Predeceased by her darling husband and best friend Nicki, parents Martin (Mattie) and Frances and by her dearly loved sister Ingrid. May they be reunited and together, rest in peace.

Deeply loved and mourned by her daughter Aisling, son Malcolm, son-in-law Mike and daughter-in-law Orla, grandchildren Bláthnaid and Caoimhe, Dion, Naoise and Áindle of whom she was immensely proud. Finola will be fondly remembered by Ingrid’s children Therese, Fiona and Naoimh, Donncadh, Gearóid and Cómhnall, the extended O Beirn and MacDonald family and friends.

Funeral arrangements

Monday, August 4, 2025 - Reposing at the O' Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue (H91 K8) from 4.00 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.

Tuesday, August 5, 2025 - Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Finola on arrival at St. Mary’s Church, The Claddagh at 11 a.m. Following Mass, Finola will be laid to rest in Rahoon cemetery.
