The death has occurred of Jim Geraghty, Corrib Park, Newcastle, Galway and formerly of Davis Road, Shantalla.
Jim died unexpectedly following a short illness in the wonderful care of the staff of the ICU Department at Galway Clinic with his family by his side. He is deeply mourned by his mother Phil (Mrs.Geraghty), son Shane, daughter Louise, son-in-law Liam Kearney, Shane’s partner Anne, by his adored grandchildren Grace, Ruth, Robyn and his beloved Harry, all of whom he was immensely proud. Sadly, missed also by his brother Alan, sisters Joan and Mary, brother-in-law Tony, Alan’s partner Joan, sisters-in-law Peggy, Sr. Moira, Ann and Chris, and by the extended Geraghty and Keane families and close neighbours who were wonderful to Jim and the family, and lovely friends.
A loving and caring father, gone to be with his cherished wife Esther, whose love he never stopped carrying.
Funeral arrangements
Monday, August 4, 2025 - Reposing at St. Pio’s Room within the Church of the Sacred Heart, Seamus Quirke Road from 5.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.
Tuesday, August 5, 2025 - Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Jim at 11.30 a.m. Following a private cremation, Jim will be laid to rest with Esther in Rahoon cemetery. Livestream link for Mass below.
