The death has occurred of John Coen

Corrib Park, Newcastle, Galway / Caltra, Galway

 

Formerly of Kinclare, Caltra, Ballinasloe

John died surrounded by family and in the great care of the Galway Hospice on Thursday, 7th May, 2026. Dearly beloved by his late wife Penelope (Penny) (née Barrett). He is mourned by his sons Johnnie, Patrick, Thomas, Kevin and Michael, daughters-in-law Sheila and Fionnuala, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brothers Tom and Willie and sister Mary Ellen, sister -in-law Bridgie (USA), brother-in-law Tommy and his wife Maura, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

fair ye well sweet Corrib Lake,
you will both be here forever,

Funeral Arrangements

Monday, 11th May, 2026 John will lie in repose at ‘St. Pio’s Room’ within the Church of the Sacred Heart, Seamus Quirke Road from 5.00 p.m. with Removal into the Church at 6.30 p.m.

 

Tuesday, 12th May, 2026

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for John at 11.30 a.m. Livestream link for Mass: https://mcn.live/Camera/catholic-church-of-the-sacred-heart

He will be laid to rest following Mass with Penny in Rahoon cemetery. Family Flowers only please, donations if preferred to the Galway Hospice.
