The death has occurred of John Joe Duggan, Liscaninane, Claregalway, Co. Galway.

 On the 26th of July 2025, a beautiful sunny morning, our dear John Joe completed his long and happy journey in this life very peacefully in his home of 91 years surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Predeceased by his parents Bridget (Wall) and Thomas Duggan, infant siblings Manus and Mary, brother Paddy and his wife Chrissie, beloved daughter Bridie and daughter-in-law Ann, all of whom will welcome him with open arms on his arrival.

John Joe, affectionately called Pop, is deeply mourned and sadly missed by his devoted wife and dear friend Nellie, the love of his life for the past 66 years, his daughter Mary, sons Tom, Donie, Pat, John, Paul, Joseph and Anthony, sister-in-law Sally, sons-in-law Noel and Oscar, daughters-in-law Barbara, Una, Noreen and Ita, his 21 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, his nieces, nephews and extended family, treasured neighbours and friends.

A life well lived where family, friends and neighbours mattered most, we now let his gentle soul rest in peace.

Funeral Arrangements

Monday July 28th 2025

Reposing at Our Lady’s Chapel, Lackagh (H65N129) from 5pm with removal to the Church of Our Lady of Knock, Lackagh at 7pm.

Tuesday July 29th 2025

Funeral Mass in the Church of Our Lady of Knock, Lackagh (H65N129) at 11.30am with burial afterwards in Cregg Cemetery.

Mass will be live-streamed on the Lackagh Church Live YouTube Channel and also broadcast on parish radio, 106.9 FM.

House Strictly Private please

The family would like privacy at this time to allow them time to mourn John Joe’s passing and reflect on wonderful memories and life stories.
