The death has occurred of John Reidy, Toberroe, Athenry, Co. Galway and formerly of Mill Street, Westport, Co. Mayo.
John, fondly known as Gwag, slipped away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on August 2nd 2025 at Four Ferns Nursing Home, Foxrock, Dublin.
He will be forever missed by his loving family, sons Paul and Cormac, daughters Gráinne, Derval and Sinéad, adored grandchildren Seán, Keira, Ella, Anna Margaret, Charlotte, Emily, Aisling, Donagh and Faye, his sister Sheila, sons-in-law Eoin, Conor and Eamonn, daughters-in-law Carey and Sophie, extended Reidy and Cummins families, former colleagues at Teagasc, Athenry, relatives, dear neighbours and friends.
He is predeceased by his loving wife Margaret (née Cummins, Kilskeagh) parents Cornelius and Mary, aunt Ellie Joyce (Westport) and cousin Joseph Atkinson (London).
John will repose at Gardner’s Funeral Home, Athenry (H65 EV80) on Tuesday August 5th from 5:00pm. Removal at 7:00pm to the Church of the Assumption, Athenry (H65 PV27). Requiem Mass on Wednesday 6th at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the New Cemetery, Athenry.
