The death has occurred of Julia Rabbitte née Ward, Menlo.

On Thursday the 22nd of January 2026, Julia passed away peacefully, after a long illness bravely borne with great courage and dignity, in the wonderful care of the staff of The Galway Hospice.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Padraig, brother Jim (Jippy) and sister Pauline.

Julia will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loving sons Paul and Alan, daughters Marian, Angela and Linda, son-in-law Mike, grandchildren Ashley (and her husband Christian), Shaelin, Eabha and Siobhan, great-grandchildren Nova and Vaeda, brothers Mike and Paddy, sisters Mary and Nonie, niece Ann, nephews John and Cathal, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

May Julia's Gentle Soul Rest in Peace

Reposing at Irwin’s Funeral Home, Bóthar Irwin, Galway (H91 CK84), on Sunday the 25th of January from 6:30pm until 8pm. Funeral will arrive to St. Peter and Paul's Church, Coolough (H91 FF21) on Monday the 26th of January for Requiem Mass at 2pm. Julia will then be laid to rest in Menlo Cemetery with her beloved husband Padraig.

House strictly private please.

Very sad to hear of Julia's passing, my sincere condolences to all her family. A very kind gentle person, knew Julia when she worked with her late neighbour Tommy Lawless. May they now meet again and have a great chat. Rest in Peace Julia.
