The death has occurred of Kevin Harney

Dalysfort Road, Salthill, Galway / Athlone, Roscommon

Formerly of Crannagh, Athlone, Co. Roscommon.

 

Kevin passed away peacefully on the 4th of July 2026, surrounded by his family, in The Galway Hospice, after a short illness borne with strength and dignity.

 

Deeply missed by his wife Maureen, daughters Nicole and Sianna, Nicole’s husband Fiach, Sianna’s partner Ross and his much loved grandson Fiach Óg (Ógie).

 

Sadly missed by his brothers Padraig and Tony and their wives Teresa and Noreen, mother-in-law Teresa Feeney, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, relatives, friends and his ex-work colleagues in Creganna, Galway.

 

Predeceased by his parents John and Mary Harney (Crannagh, Athlone) and father-in-law Paddy Feeney (Salthill).

 

May His Kind and Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

 

Reposing in Irwin’s Funeral Home, Bóthar Irwin (H91 CK84), on Tuesday the 7th of July from 5pm. Private removal to his home at 6:30pm. Kevin’s Requiem Mass will take place on Wednesday the 8th of July at 12 noon, in Christ the King Church, Salthill (H91 T8F5). Kevin will then be laid to rest in Rahoon Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of The Galway Hospice, U.H.G., and the Bons Secours Hospital, for their compassion and excellent care of Kevin, over the last few weeks.
