The death has occurred of MARTIN DEELY Firpark / Ballyboy, Gort, Galway
DEELY Martin. Firpark/Ballyboy, Gort, Co. Galway. Peacefully on the 2nd of May, 2026, in the tender care of the wonderful staff of University Hospital Galway.
Pre-deceased by his parents Mattie and Mary and by many other family members and friends.
Deeply mourned and sadly missed by his brothers John (U.K), Michael (Kildare), Pat (Ballyboy), Frank (U.K) and Vincent (Brazil) . Fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law Marian, Gretta, Rosemary and Marilene, nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces. Deeply regretted by his cousins, relatives, by the extended Deely family, great neighbours and many loyal friends.

Martin will lie in repose in Seomra Ciúin, within Gort Town Hall, Church Street, Gort, (H91 E0C8) on Monday evening, May 4th, from 5pm. Removal at 7pm to St. Anne’s church Shanaglish. Requiem mass will be celebrated for Martin on Tuesday May 5th at 12 noon. Martin will be laid to rest afterwards in Shanaglish cemetery.

The family deeply appreciates your kindness and support at this time. A special word of thanks to all who cared for Martin throughout his illness Dr. Piggott and staff and especially all the staff at the coronary care unit and St. Mary’s ward in University Hospital Galway. Finally much gratitude to our kind neighbours and friends for all they have done for us over these difficult days.
