Maureen Butler (née Ridge)

Maureen completed her life’s journey on Tuesday 12th May 2026 which began in Recess, Connemara. She is predeceased by her beloved husband David (formerly of Salthill) and by her parents Michael and Mary and brothers Gerald and Vincent, of Recess, Connemara.

Her children Ronan, Justin, Enda, Caroline, Marie and Dervila will greatly miss her as will her grandchildren Amy, Michael, Abaigh, Holly and Emily and great granddaughter Ciara.

She is sadly missed also by her brothers Brendan, Dermot and Michael, aunty Sabina Brady, sons-in-law Larry and James and Ronan’s partner Ethna, sisters-in-law Virginia, Maureen and Clare, niece Jessica and nephew, Jason, relatives, neighbours and friends.

I remember living in that house,
That white house on the hill,
Where Twelve Pins stood in silent watch
Beneath the windowsill.

In the quiet heart of Recess,
Midst the green of marble stone,
The door stood open to the world,
But the beauty was our own.

Funeral Arrangements

Thursday, 14th May 2026

Maureen will lie in Repose at the Church of the Holy Family, Funeral Parlour, Mervue, (H91FH52) from 5 p.m. with Removal at 6:30 p.m. to the adjoining Church. Entrance to the funeral parlour is through the Main Church Door and the exit is at car park level where you will find wheelchair access.

Friday, 15th May 2026

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Maureen at 11 am. Live-streaming link for the Mass is available Here

Private Cremation will follow on Saturday.
