The death has occurred of Michael Cahalan, Convent Hill Crescent, Ballina, Co. Mayo, Turloughmore, Galway

Peacefully on May 14th 2025, surrounded by his loving family and in the wonderful care of the staff of St Patrick’s Ward, University Hospital Galway.

Predeceased by his beloved parents, Pat and Mary.

Beloved husband of Anne, dearly loved father of Brendan and Paul, and cherished father-in-law of Patricia and Irene. Adored grandfather of Daire, Lauren, Conall, Aoibhinn and Crevan.

He will be sadly missed by his sisters Marie and Anne, brothers Patsy, Murt and Seamus, grand-aunt Kathleen, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, godchildren, extended family, neighbours, and his many dear friends.

Mike was a kind and gentle man who gave his time freely to others. He loved nothing more than a good chat, meeting his friends, and spending precious time with his grandchildren. His presence brought comfort and calm, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

Reposing at Our Lady’s Chapel, Lackagh (H65N129) on Friday evening, 16th May from 6-30 pm until 8-00pm. Funeral Mass in the Church of Our Lady of Knock, Lackagh (H65N129) on Saturday at 11.00 am with burial afterwards in New Cemetery, Bohermore.

Mass will be live-streamed on Lackagh Church Live YouTube Channel and also broadcast on parish radio, 106.9 FM.

The Lord called him home,

his earthly journey complete.

He walked with kindness and faith,

and now rests in the arms of Jesus.
