The death has occurred of Mona Shannon née Satchwell, Claremont Park, Circular Road, Rahoon and formerly of Athenry Road, Tuam.
Mona passed away peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at the Galway Clinic, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved mother of Ann, Elaine, David, Sandra and Deirdre. Predeceased by her sister Ann and brother John.
Deeply mourned and sadly missed by her partner Faiz, daughters and son, sons-in-law David, Jim and Paul. Fondly remembered with great love and affection by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Funeral arrangements
Monday 12th January, 2026 ; Reposing at the O'Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91 V1K8) from 5.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.
There will be no Removal to the Church this evening.
Tuesday 13th January, 2026 ; Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Mona at the Sacred Heart Church, Seamus Quirke Road, on arrival at 11.30 a.m.
Following Mass she will be laid to rest in Rahoon cemetery.

Please approach the funeral parlour on foot from Fr. Burke Park. Street parking may be available on Fr. Griffin Road, within Claddagh, on Henry Street and Sea Road. Parking may be scarce on Munster Avenue.
Car Parks within walking distance of the parlour:
The Claddagh Church, Spanish Arch and Mill Street which is adjacent to the Garda Station.
