The death has occurred of Paddy Fahy, Cahertymore, Athenry, Co Galway.
Paddy, passed peacefully on May 17th, 2026, in his 94th year, surrounded by his loving family and in the wonderful care of the staff of St Teresa's, University College Hospital Galway.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife Marie (nee Garahy, Birr), his father Tom and mother Mary (Monaghan), sisters Nellie Power (Killimor), Briget Mulready (Sixmilebridge), Frances Grealish (Woodquay), Carmel O’Brien (Fethard), Ann King (Headford), sisters in-law and brothers in-law.
Paddy is sadly missed by his heartbroken family, daughters Tricia and her partner Tommy, Angi and her husband Alan, son Paul and his partner Ana, grandson Christopher, granddaughter Charlotte, brother Christy and his wife Breda, sisters Esther Fahy and her husband Sean (Gort), Kay St. John (Fethard), Belle Walshe (Fethard), Celia Caulfield (Castle Lambert), sister in-law Noreen Garahy (Birr), his many nieces and nephews, his colleagues at Turloughmore Hurling Club, neighbours and his many friends. Paddy was a proud member of the famous Six-In-A-Row Turloughmore Hurling Team and holds seven County medals in total for the club.
Reposing at Turloughmore GAA Centre (H65 HD26) on Thursday May 21st from 5pm to 7pm.
Funeral service at Turloughmore GAA Centre on Friday May 22nd at 12 noon. Funeral cortège will proceed afterwards to the New Cemetery Athenry for burial. House private by request.
