The death has occurred of Patricia Flaherty

Baile na Créige, Kilronan, Galway

Cill Rónáin, Inis Mór, Árainn, Co. na Gaillimhe

On Saturday, July 4th, 2026, Patricia completed her life's journey in the exceptional care of all the staff of St. Patrick’s and St. Dominick’s Wards at Galway University Hospital and with her family by her side. Their kindness and empathy during Patricia’s time in their care was much appreciated. Predeceased by her parents Bartley and Delia and by her sister Maureen.

Deeply mourned by her brother Bertie and sister-in-law Joanne, niece Meabh and nephew Aonghus, Meabh's husband Martin and Aonghus' wife Aisling. She will always be fondly remembered by her adored grand-nephews and grand-nieces Féilim Donnacha, Síomha, Aoibheann and Seán. Fondly remembered also by her aunt Patricia (Dublin), many cousins and their families, lovely friends and kind neighbours.

The world may never notice, if a snowdrop doesn’t bloom,

Or even pause to wonder if the petals fall too soon.

But every life that ever forms, or ever comes to be,

Touches the world in some small way for all eternity.

Now, at last, you journey home,

where heaven opens soft and wide;

'Reunited' again in that eternal, gentle place.
