The death has occurred of Sr. Assumpta Cahill

Rosary Lane, Taylor's Hill, Salthill, Galway / Craughwell, Galway

Stella Maria, Taylors Hill, Galway and Shanbally, Craughwell, formerly of

Convent of Mercy, Tuam, Louisburgh and Glenamaddy.

Sr. Assumpta, Sisters of Mercy, Stella Maria, Galway and formerly of Convent of Mercy Tuam, Louisburgh and Glenamaddy, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 14th .

Predeceased by her parents William and Mary (Forde), her brothers John, Jim, Liam, Fr. Michael (SMA), her sisters Sr. Máire, Margaret (Duffy), Kathleen (Murray), Julie (Cahill), Christina (Slevin) and her niece Marion (Maher). Deeply mourned and fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, sisters in law Phil and Kathleen, extended family, friends and the Sisters of Mercy Western Branch, in particular the community in Stella Maria.

Rest in Peace

Reposing at Stella Maria (H91 XY93) on Thursday April 16th from 3.30 pm to 5.00 pm. Arriving at the Cathedral of the Assumption, Tuam (H54 WP66) at 11 am on Friday April 17th for Mass of the Resurrection at 11.30 am. Burial afterwards in the Convent Cemetery, Tuam.

Condolences to nieces and nephews and extended family and friends of Sr Assumpta I took her place as an Irish teacher on her retirement from what was then Coláiste Seosaimh, Glenamaddy. It was a hard act to follow as Sr Assumpta was known as a brilliant teacher. May she rest in peace.
