The death has occurred of Very Rev. Fr. Sean Slattery, Castletroy, Limerick / Hollyford, Tipperary / Galway
Very Rev. Fr. Sean Slattery, Castletroy, Limerick and formerly of Hollyford, Co. Tipperary. Retired Parish Priest Ballymacward, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway and Priest of the Diocese of Clonfert for 50 years.
May 8th 2026 unexpectedly but peacefully at his home.
Predeceased by his parents Maurice and Mai Slattery, sister Eileen, brother-in-law Tom Gavin, niece Emer Hurley-Williams. Deeply regretted by his loving sisters Peig (Hurley), Aine Slattery, Eithne (Gavin), brother-in-law Cormac Hurley, his nephews Muiris and Tomas, nieces Muirne, Bríd, Aisling and Ciara, grandnephews, grandnieces, Bishop Michael Duignan, Bishop Emeritus John Kirby and the priests and religious of Clonfert Diocese and the Kiltegan Community, and by the parishioners in the various parishes in which he ministered and served so faithfully since his Ordination to the Priesthood in 1969 and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at Milford Care Centre on Monday (11th May) from 5pm to 6.30pm followed by removal to St. Mary Magdalene Church, Monaleen. Requiem Mass will take place on on Tuesday (12th May) at 1pm followed by burial in Kilmurry Cemetery.
