Galway GAA chief backing Padraig Joyce's new 3-year term as Football Manager

Galway GAA Chairman Paul Bellew has said the ratification of Padraig Joyce as County Senior Football Manager for a new 3-year term came about after "a long period of introspection and review on a number of fronts between players, management and ourselves." Speaking on Galway Talks this morning on Galway Bay FM, Bellew cited the new rules in football as one of the factors that convinced Joyce to stay in charge for what will be his 7th year as Senior Manager in 2026, although there will be changes to his backroom team. Long-serving coach and backroom team member John Divilly, a teammate of Joyce's from St Jarlath's College, and the 1998 All-Ireland winning Galway team, is stepping away after being involved with the Galway U20 and senior management for the last seven years. Paul Bellew told presenter John Morley that Galway are one of the top teams in the country when it comes to challenging for the All-Ireland Senior Football title and have been very close in recent years...
