Salthill Knocknacarra U15 footballers will represent Galway at the National Football Feile in Derry after they beat Maigh Cuilinn 2-4 to 8 points in a play-off last night in Oughterard. The two sides could not be separated after extra time in the recent Division 1 Football Féile final in Pearse Stadium, so Coiste Peil na nÓg presented the Niall McGinn Cup to both captains, as the two clubs were deemed to share the title. However, subsequent correspondence from Croke Park confirmed that only one team could go forward to represent Galway in this year's national finals, so a play-off game to decide which of the two teams would earn that right was arranged for last night. The winners led by 2-2 to 0-3 at half-time, but had to withstand a strong Maigh Cuilinn fightback in the second half, before holding on for victory. PJ Lunch reports from Oughterard:
