There's a major need for massive capital investment in transport and active travel measures in Galway.
That's according to Galway West People Before Profit candidate Maisie McMaster, who says action is needed to tackle chronic traffic and reduce carbon emissions.
She says there must be a doubling of capital investment in public transport - and the Western Rail Corridor must be reopened between Galway and Sligo.
Maisie McMaster says People Before Profit would also make public transport free for everyone to encourage much greater uptake.
