Galway senior teams Tribes and Corrib were victorious in the National Division 1 Cup finals at Lisnasharragh Leisure Centre in Belfast at the weekend, with Tribes Water Polo Club defeating the local Diamonds Club 16 - 7 in the Women’s tournament final, and Corrib Water Polo Club getting the better of another local club Clonard by a score of 15 – 7 in the Men’s final.
Captain Alannah Blacoe accepted the winners' trophy on behalf of Tribes, whilst fellow Tribes player Eanny Valyi was awarded the tournament’s MVP prize. Corrib Captain Adam Caulfield was presented with the Men’s tournament trophy, and his team colleague Austin Murphy received the Men’s MVP Award. Ireland Water Polo President Adrian Hanna was on hand to make the presentations.
