A landmark occasion is coming to Gort as Gort Community School celebrates its 30th Anniversary on Friday, April 24th, with a full day of special events, memories, sport, music, and community spirit.
Join Ronan Lardner on The Live Wire on air from 12pm to 3pm for a special outside broadcast from the school, as the celebrations begin for this major milestone in the school’s proud history.
A Day of Celebration for the Whole Community
The anniversary festivities continue throughout the afternoon and evening, with everyone invited to take part.
Open School Tour – From 3pm
Gort Community School will open its doors to the wider community from 3pm for a special Open School Tour. Visitors can explore:
- Archival photographs highlighting the school’s 30-year journey
- Displays of outstanding student projects
- A chance to revisit memories and see how the school has grown through the decades
Hurling & Camogie Exhibition Matches – 5pm
Sporting celebrations take place at 5pm on the Gort Community School pitch, with exciting Hurling and Camogie exhibition matches showcasing school pride and local talent.
Evening Reception & Celebration – 7:30pm
The day concludes in style at the Lady Gregory Hotel with a wine reception and buffet meal beginning at 7:30pm.
Guests will also enjoy special musical performances from students and staff, making it a fitting finale to a memorable day.
