Mark your calendars! The Gort & District Show is back and better than ever, taking place on Saturday, 9th August 2024 at the Gort Community Centre and School Grounds. This much-loved local tradition promises an exciting day packed with entertainment, competitions, displays, and activities for all ages.
Can’t make it in person? Tune into The Wagon Wheel when Ronan Lardner sits in for Valerie Hughes on a special outside broadcast from 11am to 1pm, bringing you live highlights and all the buzz from the day.
From live music to a stilt walker, a magic show, and FREE kids' entertainment, there’s something to delight every member of the family. Animal lovers won’t want to miss the Dog Show, while creative minds can enjoy baking and craft demonstrations throughout the day.
Feeling competitive? Get involved in the Bonny Baby, Glamorous Granny, or Most Appropriately Dressed Lady & Gent competitions. Or test your strength and cheer on the teams in the Tug O’ War and Sheaf Throwing events.
Don’t forget the vintage car and tractor display, a wide range of trade stands, and delicious local fare from the food stalls. There’s lots to see and do from start to finish.
The festivities officially kick off at 1pm, with a special guest on hand to open the show in style. Be sure to arrive early and soak up the atmosphere.
