This Sunday from 11am to 1pm, Valerie Hughes brings The Wagon Wheel live to Glenamaddy Equestrian Centre for the Glenamaddy District Ploughing & Agricultural Show. Join Valerie from 11am for a lively celebration of all things ploughing, farming, and rural life.
This year marks the 11th Anniversary of the Glenamaddy District Ploughing & Agricultural show.
There is an outstanding programme of events, featuring the prestigious National Ploughing Association’s headline ploughing competition. Their extensive livestock exhibition will feature cattle and sheep, with the exciting addition of rare breeds introduced this year. All exhibits will be showcased in their impressive 40,000 sq. ft. equestrian arena, proudly accredited by the Irish Show Association.
In addition, the show is thrilled to present lawnmower racing and helicopter rides. Take in a vibrant showcase of vintage tractors, machinery, and classic cars, alongside live traditional music featuring performances by Olivia Douglas and Gerry Guthrie. Enjoy energetic dance displays, jiving and waltzing competitions, traditional thrashing, a working forge, a dedicated children’s play zone, a dog show, and a wide array of indoor and outdoor crafts.
The Glenamaddy District Ploughing and Agricultural Show boasts a vibrant schedule, offering a wide variety of attractions to engage visitors of all ages.
The All-Ireland Tractor Pulling Finals are back at this year’s show, providing a unique opportunity for local participants to compete. Plus, we aim to break the world record for the fastest time to plough a one-acre field – Are you up for the challenge?!!
