Leo Walsh Pharmacy is celebrating a major milestone today as it marks 20 years of service to the people of Knocknacarra and beyond. The team is taking this special occasion to thank all who have supported and encouraged them—not only today, but throughout the past two decades.
Over the years, the pharmacy has grown to become an integral part of the local community. Staff say they are honoured to serve the healthcare needs of families in Knocknacarra as well as those from neighbouring areas.
The team emphasises that their work goes far beyond dispensing medication. “When people are ill, or when their loved ones are going through difficult times, it’s not just medicines they need,” they say. “It’s a caring touch too.
Today’s anniversary is both a day of celebration and reflection. The pharmacy fondly remembers the many people they have met along the journey—those who continue to be part of daily life at LWP, those who have moved away, and those who are no longer with us. All are held in warm regard as the milestone is marked.
The team also paid tribute to the staff who have shaped the pharmacy since its early days. Three members of the original crew—Amanda, Olivia, and Edel—are still proudly standing behind the counter. Past and present staff are thanked for their dedication, hard work, and the personal touch each has brought to Leo Walsh Pharmacy.
A special mention was given to owner Brian, who is recognised for his trust, support, and unwavering commitment to the health needs of the community. His charitable efforts outside the pharmacy doors were also acknowledged, along with warm wishes to him and his family on this significant day.
Finally, the pharmacy extends heartfelt thanks to all customers:
“Your loyalty, support, friendship, patience, and kindness have carried us through the highs and lows. Your smiles and kind words have meant more than you know. We would not be here today without you.”
Leo Walsh Pharmacy celebrates this 20-year milestone with deep gratitude and looks forward to continuing to serve the community for many years to come.
