The Connacht management team have released the latest squad update ahead of Saturday’s BKT United Rugby Championship meeting with Edinburgh at Dexcom Stadium.
In good news, Bundee Aki (heel), Caolin Blade (ankle) and Denis Buckley (quad) are available for selection, having missed the trip to South Africa. At the same time, long-term absentee Sean O’Brien (hamstring) is also available. Sean Jansen (head) continues the GRTP protocols after his HIA removal against the Lions, and a decision on him and Shamus Hurley-Langton (wrist) will be made later in the week. Unavailable for Rounds 17 and 18 of the URC are Mack Hansen (ankle), Colm Reilly (knee), Shane Jennings (shoulder), Byron Ralston (knee) and Josh Ioane (hand). Hansen will miss approximately 5 weeks with an ankle injury, while Reilly suffered a dislocated kneecap in the Lions game and will miss 8-10 weeks. Jennings suffered a dislocated shoulder in the same game and will have a 12-week rehab following surgery this week. Ralston and Ioane, meanwhile, continue to work towards availability for pre-season.
