Loughrea suffered the heartbreak of All-Ireland Final defeat as they fell short at the hands of Ballygunner by six points on Sunday afternoon. Loughrea started well, and both sides were chipping away at the scoreboard. Darren Shaughnessy lit up Croke Park with a huge goal on 26 minutes, and Loughrea went in a point behind at the break. But in the second half, Ballygunner showed their experience at this level. They began to pull away from Loughrea and ended the game six-point victors to claim their just their second ever All-Ireland title.
