Galway suffered defeat in their opening game of the 2026 All-Ireland under-23 camogie championship on Sunday as Cork gained revenge for last year's final defeat in Duggan Park (29th March 2026).
Ciara Golden's goal after just 45 seconds proved to be the difference as they led 1-5 to 0-2 at half-time. With the wind in the second half, Galway rallied back in stages but never managed to catch their opponents.
Afterwards, Galway manager Cathal Murray spoke to Galway Bay FM's Darren Kelly.
Galway Bay FM's match commentary team were Darren Kelly and Imelda Hobbins.
Galway scorers: Caoimhe Kelly 0-5, Niamh McInerney 0-2, Aoibheann Barry 0-2, Kayla Madden 0-1, Katie Gilchrist 0-1 (1f).
Galway's next game is away to Kilkenny on Sunday (5th April) with details to be confirmed.
