It was disappointment for Loughrea in the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Final at Croke Park on Sunday afternoon as they were defeated by Ballygunner of Waterford on a scoreline of 1-20 to 1-14. Despite a positive first half and a goal from Darren Shaughnessy on 26 minutes, Loughrea trailed by a point at the break. Ballygunner, with a strong second-half performance, pulled away and ran out six-point winners in the end.
