The Gymnastics Ireland National Championships take place at the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena this weekend (Saturday-Sunday, 16th-17th May 2026) with plenty of Galway involvement.
One person many eyes will be on is 10-time Irish champion Emma Slevin from Renmore Gymnastics Club who'll be competing in four different appartuses on Sunday (floor, valut, balance beam and uneven bars).
It's the Claregalway gymnast's first trip back to Ireland since playing her part in making history with University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. The 13th seeds surprised all by reaching a first ever NCAA National Championships in Texas last month, only just missing out on a bronze medal.
Ahead of her latest attempt at national silverware, Emma Slevin joined Galway Bay FM's Darren Kelly for a chat.
