AIB, proud supporters of club and county, launched its campaign in support of the 2026 GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship, by celebrating the profound impact of the managers, coaches, mentors, and backroom teams who support the players on Gaelic football’s biggest stage and in doing so, lift all those around them.
To kick off their support for this year’s Championship, AIB released exclusive teaser content featuring Gaelic Football legend Kieran Donaghy. The sneak peek offers an emotional glimpse into the unexpected tribute he received, reflecting moments where his support changed the course of careers and lives of people around him. The full piece will follow on Friday and is a powerful testament to AIB’s campaign message, that behind every county team are those who empower and enable Gaelic Football’s greatest players as they strive for All-Ireland success and, in doing so, lift us all.
The 2026 Championship season promises thrilling encounters and continued tactical innovation. Some of the game’s biggest stars Seán O'Shea (Kerry), Oisin Conaty (Armagh) Aidan O'Shea (Mayo), and Jordan Morris (Meath) are teaming up with AIB in advance of the Championship’s first fixtures on April 11th and 12th, that will see defending champions Kerry chase a historic 40th title. Yet behind every tactical battle and match defining moment, the common theme is the unwavering support and guidance from the backroom team behind the players.
AIB remains committed to supporting Gaelic games at all levels of the game having renewed its sponsorship of both the GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship and AIB Club Championships until 2028. This long-standing partnership also includes sponsorship of the AIB Camogie Club Championships and the AIB Ladies Gaelic Football Club Championship, making AIB the first and only sponsor to support the four codes of Gaelic games.
AIB Chief Executive Officer, Colin Hunt said: “At AIB, we are committed to empowering communities to thrive and achieve their shared goals, for this generation and future generations to come. This commitment is mirrored in Gaelic games. True success, both on and off the pitch, is built on a foundation of shared expertise, unwavering encouragement, and profound personal connection. That’s why our support for the 2026 GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship is a tribute to the dedicated managers, mentors, and backroom teams who consistently lift those around them, empowering players to reach their full potential and achieve their sporting ambitions.”
Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael, Jarlath Burns stated: “The launch of the 2026 GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship, powerfully underscored by the content with Kieran Donaghy, truly speaks to the very heart of our Gaelic games. For many years, AIB has been an unwavering champion, helping us celebrate the raw passion, exceptional skill, and the vital community spirit that makes our games so unique. This year's brilliant focus on those who lift our players – the dedicated managers, mentors, and backroom teams, often operating behind the scenes – is an acknowledgement of the immense, indispensable work without which our athletes could never achieve their full potential. We thank AIB for their steadfast commitment to the GAA, and for honouring the players, the clubs, and the enduring traditions that make the All-Ireland Senior Football Championships such a cherished and unforgettable period of the year for us all.”
