The Galway Ladies Footballers recorded their second win of their National League Division 1 campaign with a 3-12 to 1-7 victory over Kildare in Tuam Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Goals from Andrea Trill and Leanne Coen had the Tribeswomen 2-6 to 0-5 to the good at the break, and Roisin Leonard hammered home a third goal at the start of the second half to end the game as a contest. Two points from Trill and Kate Thompson raised a white flag to put Daniel Moynihan's side 3-9 to 0-5 up with 42 minutes played.
Aoife Rattigan pointed a free for the Lilywhites, before they were awarded a penalty, which substitute Alannah Prizeman buried to the bottom corner of the net. Hannah Noone, her sister Eva and Kate Slevin kept the scoreboard ticking for Galway, and Kildare goalscorer Prizeman rounded off the afternoon's scoring with a free to see the Westerners' victorious with 11 points to spare.
Next up for Galway is a meeting with Armagh in Duggan Park, Ballinasloe, in two weeks' time, while Kildare travel to Dublin.
